Digital Locker is a key initiative under Digital India program. It is an online application that aims at eliminating the use of physical documents and enables sharing of verified electronic documents across various agencies. Digital Locker provides a dedicated personal storage space in the cloud to citizens, linked to citizen’s Aadhaar number. It will enable various organizations registered on Digital Locker to push certificates of citizens directly in their Digital Locker in electronic format. Citizens can also upload and securely store the scanned copies of legacy documents in Digital Locker. These legacy documents can be electronically signed using eSign facility. A citizen can share these electronic certificates online with various departments and agencies registered on Digital Locker while applying for the services provided by them. Thus, Digital Locker brings the citizens, issuers and requestors on one platform and reduces administrative overhead of agencies by eliminating paperwork. It will also make it easy for the residents to receive services by saving time and effort.

setup a service centre in all taluks to upload the scanned copy of the certificates to check the fraud and duplicate certificates

The maximum file size that can be uploaded should be enhanced. Images can be compressed to smaller size using softwares making their size upto 1MB but size of pdf form documents whose file size may exceed 1MB cannot be reduced. Even the Google drive allows more than 25MB attachment size so why cannot digilocker ??

Is it possible to store mark sheet and important doc. in digital locker, so as if not to be carried(hard copies) while interview in govt. as well as private firms, and also where ever these doc are req. ...if so then how, tell me..

If the users of Digital Locker are govt. employess then its ok. If Digital Locker is for Citizens without any govt services attached,then its a waste of time. There are many good document stores freely available on the internet like Google drive, skybox, dropbox etc.. Please develop DigitalLocker for govt employees .

It should be made mandatory for all financial institutions to receive all required documents through digital locker. Some documents should be kept at the will of account holder and some documents should be their where no control of account holder is their such as loan documents, User should not be allowed to delete these. This will facilitate other loan giving entities to know financial status ofany individual.
