I propose that ICAI introduce a 'Single Digital Tax Manual'—a unified, official mobile application and interactive guidebook designed specifically for common citizens and salaried taxpayers. Currently, tax laws and regulations are highly technical, scattered, and difficult for non-finance professionals to comprehend. To bridge this gap, ICAI should create a simplified manual available in Hindi, English, and multiple regional languages, completely free of complex legal jargon. This platform should utilize easy-to-understand infographics, short animated explainer videos, and interactive 'Yes/No' questionnaires to guide users through tax-saving deductions, file compliance, and standard protocols. Implementing this centralized, visual, and user-friendly reference tool will eliminate dependency on third-party sources, significantly reduce taxpayer anxiety, and naturally foster a highly transparent and tax-compliant culture across the country.

To ensure maximum convenience for salaried individuals and avoid long queues or travel challenges, these ICAI student-run helpdesks should operate both physically and virtually. A digital slot-booking system should be introduced to eliminate waiting times. Additionally, virtual video-consultation desks and weekend camps inside major residential societies and corporate offices should be organized, allowing citizens to get free, expert tax assistance without wasting their valuable time.

I suggest a collaborative initiative between ICAI and the Income Tax Department to simplify tax compliance for salaried individuals and senior citizens. By setting up seasonal, student-run digital helpdesks during peak filing months, citizens can receive guidance on navigating the portal and claiming appropriate deductions. This will minimize common self-filing mistakes, reduce the compliance burden, and foster a tax-compliant culture across the nation.

To modernize transparent governance, ICAI should drive the integration of Artificial Intelligence and blockchain technology into public sector auditing frameworks. By developing standardized, AI-driven predictive data tools, professionals can analyze financial statements and detect anomalies in real time. This digital transformation will accelerate audit cycles, eliminate human errors, and greatly enhance public trust in corporate accountability.

I propose that ICAI launch a nationwide financial literacy and compliance initiative specifically tailored for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Under this program, young chartered accountants and articles can provide local small businesses with simplified digital toolkits covering basic bookkeeping, cash flow management, and GST compliance. This proactive mentorship will significantly reduce tax errors, promote formal financial inclusion, and strengthen economic growth at the grassroots level.

Convene a short multi‑stakeholder working group (ICAI/ regulator, industry, civil society, MSME reps) to draft a 12‑month roadmap for CPD, whistleblower rules, and a pilot SME advisory package

Officially expand CAs’ permitted advisory roles in government accounting, performance auditing, and SME financial advisory to promote economic development (capacity building, tax compliance, access to finance). Support CAs in delivering low-cost packaged services for MSMEs (standardized bookkeeping, digital tax filing, credit readiness) to improve formalization and credit access.
