The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), in collaboration with MyGov, invites citizens across India to share their constructive suggestions and innovative ideas through the initiative "Have an Idea? Share it with ICAI".
This initiative provides a platform for citizens, professionals, students, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to contribute their valuable ideas for strengthening the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Chartered Accountancy profession, and India's financial and economic ecosystem.
Participants are encouraged to submit their suggestions on areas such as strengthening the Chartered Accountancy profession, promoting economic development, enhancing transparency and good governance, leveraging technology and innovation, improving financial literacy, supporting entrepreneurship, and contributing towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
The objective of this initiative is to encourage meaningful public participation and harness diverse perspectives to help build a stronger, more transparent, innovative, and future-ready Chartered Accountancy profession while contributing to an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable financial ecosystem for the nation.

POLICY SUGGESTION — STRENGTHENING STATUTORY AUDIT
I respectfully submit Policy Paper on— “Strengthening Statutory Audit for Greater Confidence in Corporate Financial Reporting” for consideration.
While statutory audit provides independent assurance on financial statements, I believe the framework can be strengthened to provide greater confidence to shareholders and other stakeholders through more transparent audit coverage, stronger examination of significant transactions and controls, and clearer reporting of significant findings.
The attached Policy Paper identifies five existing shortcomings and proposes five practical measures, including defined disclosure of audit coverage, minimum sample-based examination, enhanced attention to major and high-risk transactions, reporting on significant systems and controls, and stronger safeguards for auditor independence.

Proposal: Integrating AI Literacy and Cross-Platform Synergy into the CA Curriculum
To align with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, ICAI should actively integrate practical Artificial Intelligence (AI) training into the CA education framework and continuous professional development.
Key Recommendations:
AI-Driven Curriculum Integration: Introduce structured modules on AI tools, automated audit software, predictive financial modeling, and data analytics during IT/OC training and Articleship.
Cross-Platform AI Synergy: Train students and CAs on how to correlate data across multiple AI platforms (such as enterprise ERPs, cloud analytics, tax compliance automation tools, and generative AI models) to improve decision-making and audit precision.
AI Ethics & Governance: Include coursework on AI governance, data privacy laws, and ethical AI auditing so CAs can act as trusted advisors for tech-driven businesses.

I suggest that ICAI should create a free digital platform for financial literacy, especially for students and young people. It can provide short and simple videos on basic accounting, taxation, budgeting, saving, investment awareness and responsible money management. ICAI can also conduct online awareness sessions and workshops in schools and colleges. This will help young people understand financial matters from an early age and make better financial decisions. It can also create awareness about the role of Chartered Accountants in building trust, transparency and a strong economy. Financial knowledge today can help create responsible citizens and contribute to the vision of a developed India.

Viksit Bharat @2047 means making India a fully developed nation by the year 2047 (the 100th year of India's independence).
The Chartered Accountant of the future should not be limited to auditing accounts and preparing tax returns. CAs can become strategic partners in India’s development by helping businesses, startups, MSMEs, governments and investors make transparent, financially sound and sustainable decisions .
- Guide CA students and practitioners how to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data tools so auditing becomes faster, accurate, and fraud-free.
- Modernize the CA syllabus to focus on real-world practical skills rather than just memorizing books.
- Instead of only reading exam theory on company mergers, students work on live case studies where they practice valuing a mock startup company in software tools.
- Include basic AI and data analytics training during CA Articleship.

ICAI could start Financial Literacy Clubs in schools across India, especially for students from Classes 8–12. Chartered Accountants or trained ICAI volunteers could conduct simple sessions on:
How to make a budget and save money
Understanding taxes and why citizens pay them
How bank accounts, UPI and digital payments work
How to recognise online financial scams
The importance of responsible borrowing
Basic concepts of investing and compound interest
The interesting part is that students could then teach their families what they learn. This would create a “student → family → community” chain of financial awareness.

Dear ICAI, Being a CA intermediate student as well as a student of commerce. Students take attempts to clear CA intermedite then start their articleship and loose their hands on studies carrying out with articleship as well. My suggestion would be keeping all three level exams before articleship so that the students can clear their exams with full focus and then totally focus on real life experience and after articleship ICAI can give the degree to the particular student. As 2 year articleship in between makes students struggle to do both the things simultaneously and efficiently so keeping efficiency the foremost point, Making students focus on one thing at a time would be really helpful. Also including AI in course itself would really help students go further as rather than being afraid of AI taking anyone's job, CA students would be much more confident to instead use AI for their betterment.

Dear ICAI I'm a student of class 12th and I suggest that ICAI should start free financial literacy workshops for school and college students. Many students learn about money through textbooks but do not know how to manage it in real life. These workshops would help to teach the students basic budgeting,saving, banking,taxes, digital payment,upi, safety, financial scams,and the basics of investments. ICAI could also use short quizzes,games and real life examples to make this even more intresting. This would help young people understand about money before they start earning and will make them more financially responsible and independent. The program could be conducted both online and in schools so that the students from different backgrounds can participate. I believe this would also create awareness about accounting and finance as career fields.

ICAI should place greater emphasis on communication and soft skills by introducing structured, practical and continuous professional-skills programmes for students, helping them become not only technically competent Chartered Accountants but also confident professionals capable of communicating effectively with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.

Title: A Mental Wellness Support System for CA Students
Many CA students face stress, anxiety, and pressure due to exams, repeated attempts, and high expectations. Sometimes, students feel alone and struggle to manage their emotions along with their studies.
I suggest that ICAI introduce a Mental Wellness Support System for CA students. It can include free and confidential counselling sessions, stress management workshops, and a helpline where students can talk to trained professionals. A peer support group can also connect students who are facing similar challenges.
Monthly online sessions on time management, handling exam pressure, and building confidence can help students develop a healthy mindset.
I believe that mental health is as important as academic success. This initiative can help students feel supported, stay motivated, and continue their CA journey with confidence.
