Indian National Defence University Bill, 2015 proposes to establish a world class fully autonomous institution of National Importance under Ministry of Defence. University will develop and propagate higher education (PhD, M Phil, M Tech and M Sc) in National Security Studies, Defence Management and Defence Technology and promote policy oriented research on all aspects relating to national security, both internal and external. It would also encourage awareness of national security issues by reaching out to scholars and an audience beyond the official machinery. It will also serve as a think tank contributing to policy formulation and debates on security and strategy. INDU will inculcate and promote coordination and interaction not just between the three Armed Services but also between other agencies of the Government, the Civil Bureaucracy, Para Military Forces, Central Armed Police Forces, Intelligence Services, Diplomats, Academicians, Strategic Planners, University Students and officers from Friendly Foreign Countries. It would create synergy between the academic community and Govt functionaries. It would make available opportunities for higher studies through distance learning to interested military personnel.

Initially, four new colleges / institutions, namely School of National Security Studies, School of Defence Technology, School of Defence Management and Centre for Distance and Open Learning are proposed to be set up at main campus at Binola, Gurgaon. The four existing Defence Institutions namely National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi, College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington and National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune are proposed to be brought under the ambit of INDU without diluting their powers or autonomy for award of degrees and diplomas.

SIR, ALONG WITH STATE OF THE ART UNIVERSITIES WE NEED TO CREATE AWARENESS AMONG RURAL YOUTH ABOUT THE COURSES OUR UNIVERSITIES ARE PROVIDING.I'M TELLING THIS BECAUSE IN THE CASE OF KERALA MOST OF THE STUDENTS KNOW ONLY 2 COURSES THAT IS ENGINEERING AND MEDICINE AND NOTHING ELSE.MOST OF THEM ARE UNAWARE ABOUT IIT,IIM,AND SUCH UNIVERSITIES AND THEY ARE TAKING DIFFERENT COURSES AS PER THEIR PARENTS INSTRUCTIONS.WE CAN MAKE CHANGES IN OUR SOCIETY BY CREATING AN AWARENESS

The chancellor of the university should not be the defence minister. Academics should be separated from politics. A defence minister may be of any background(arts,commerce or economics,etc.).Instead the chancellor should be a person of enough qualification and experience of that field. Veterans or scholars from academia should be given that post and not the minister himself.

Read the draft bill. I was expecting that there would be facets of INDU which would have a sharp focus on how INDU can help in with our current problem of almost complete reliance on imports of critical weapon system. But looking at the draft bill it seems that INDU is covering the important but 'soft' aspects.

दलित एक वो सम्प्रदाय बनता जा रहा है जिसका हर कोई पार्टी राजनीती में फायदा उठाने के लिये उपयोग करती है यदी सरकार bpl की जगह दलित कार्ड या कोई अलग योजना दलित के नाम से निकाले जिसमें वास्तव में पिछड़े लोग सामिल किये जाए वो चाहे किसी भी जाती का हो यदि उसे आप वो कार्ड दे तो वो दलित माना जाये फिर केवल st sc वाला दलित नही होगा होगा ये की फिर दलित में केवल st sc नही रह जायेंगे उसमें सभी जातियों के व्यक्ति सामिल हो जाएंगे कोई भी दलित वोटों को मुस्लिम वोटों की तरह उपयोग नही कर पायेगा

sir, (i)Students of defence university must be sent to serve in army,navy & Indian air force as per their stream for a minimum period of 01 month.so that they can really understand the workculture and requirement of our defence forces. (ii)Defence forces training syllabus should be designed by this defence university. (iii)There should be a quota for direct recruitment from defence university to our defence forces. (iv)children of defence personal should be given some prefence

INDU should also have provision for M.A/M.Sc in defence studies and strategies as it is only available in state universities at present like savitribai phule pune university, university of madras, MDU, Rohtak, university of Lucknow. it should also teach civil servants about the various departments of armed forces and their requirements since it will enable them to make better decisions in the defence ministry.

It is an excellent idea. Few points which comes to mind are - (1)set up a research centre which think with a mindset of terrorists- where and how to carry on terrorist activities. This will be helpful in proactively ready for any eventuality. (2)set up a stream to teach and specialised in martial arts - Indian & of other nations. (3)also make mandatory to state police deptt to take degree qualify from here for SP and above rank promotion.

sir, difficult, but bereft of Unions and politics any university will do and it should be skill based and not theory based. Everyone teaching there or interacting there should know what they are doing to the nation and that it is a defence based and sensitivity based. Leadership qualities and communication should take the first place. youth power can drive ahead.
