In order to design an interoperable ecosystem of data, applications and processes, there is a need to formulate a policy for the Government Organizations to provide Open Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). The “Policy on Open APIs for Government of India” has been drafted to encourage formal use of Open APIs in Government Organizations. This policy sets out the Government’s approach on the use of “Open APIs” to promote software interoperability for all e-Governance applications & systems and provide access to data & services for promoting participation of citizens and other stakeholders.

You are requested to provide your inputs on the policy and suggest implementation approach across the government.

To read the abstract of Open API Policy please refer the following URL: https://static.mygov.in/static/s3fs-public/Draft_Policy%20on%20Open%20AP...

Sir, for Digital India, govt.media TV channels like Door Darshan and Radio like Akashvani/Bharti are imp. They must improve to modern standard of medias. Viewing rates, broadcasting subject matters/quality, anchors/news readers etc. Make both competatative to BBC radio and BBC world news to improve india's impression and image in world. Thanks

Sir, I pleased your digital india concept. It is time and money saving. But aware to compete with private firms. The digital security of gov sites are very poor. Govt.sites are depending on BSNL-MTNL network. Both are not competitive to pvt. So improve both to required minimum standards and securities. Thanks

Respected sir, please Review domain Registration system in India. Some foreiner companies sell indian domain without checking ''who is buyer?'' in many fraud cases no information found about fake domain/ fake website. Some similar name website create by fraud teams. Please make a system that distribute licence companies to distribute domain with full information at the time purchase of any domain in india.

Please pay ur attention at Doodrdarshan Kendras (Terestrial Repeater/broadcaster) at different district haedquarters for broadcasting DD NATIONAL. Practiacally they are white elephent in present D2H era.So is it not worthy to use them also as FM repeater radio stations for VIVIDH BHARTI along with DD broadcaster using some extra engineering equipments. thus we can have hundreds of radio FM atation at once spending least amount and using our man power of thes doordashan kendras.

Another issue is that a large number of government applications work only on Windows, and some of them work only on internet explorer. All government applications must be created on open standards and should work correctly, and with complete functionality, on all operating systems and browsers. The applications should be specially tested and verified (with this being mentioned on application's interface) open source software platforms, like Linux/Firefox.

Once we have the framework in place, I understand that all the new systems will have to comply with the standard mandatorily. But what about existing systems we already have in place? Updating existing systems in different govt departments might be quite a task, but without that the whole idea might get defeated.

* Developers should carefully design the semantics of the API first time it is made public. Speaking from my personal experience, once any API is made public, maintaining backward compatibility of those APIs might potentially become a liability if it requires changes. We do not want to modify the way a API behaves with certain parameters and break away the external system which is dependent on this API

* I believe this model will require a common system through which all the API calls will be routed which will perform authentication on API calls and other policy controls. * I assume we are planning to expose only the APIs that are "Read Only" in nature. I do not see any value in giving any write access to any external system. For example, we do not want an Income Tax officer to have permission to update data in a Police case.

रशिया ने यूरोप से आर्थिक सम्बन्ध बंद कर दिए है , इस बात का भारत को लाभ उठाना चाहिए।
