A very simple and do-able change. Govt. can establish Idol of Ganga Maa on some famous ghats and infront of Idol make a small pond filled with Ganga water that can be managed/cleaned on daily basis by Ganga Seva Samiti. All Pandits can guide people do offerings in pond instead of directly in Ganga. This could be least cost and easily applied idea in very less amount of time without affecting common religious practices of people. And Idol of maa Ganga will automatically attract people for this.

Firstly, the ambit of last rituals of a person near Ganga should be strictly confined & checked. Secondly, there should be facility of providing clean cloths to the pilgrims with or without rent (as per practicality) while entering in Ganga for taking bath as the pilgrims enter the water with dirty cloths. Thirdly, prohibition on taking soaps & shampoos for bathing as they contain harmful chemicals. Fourthly, people having skin or communicable diseases should be restrained from entering Ganga.

every industry which disposed their waste in ganga if firstly reduce hazardous component of waste then disposed it. gov. should make a act , in which industry has to pay extra amount of money gov. for their waste disposaland this extra amount shoud be decided by their high or low rate of waste disposal. industry should help to gov. by providing their employee for cleaning of certain area under this new act.

Heard there are 12 Lakhs Sadhus in India. The way a Sadhu would feel for Ganga, I believe very few will feel; we must seek their help and active participation in Clean Ganga project. Its everybody's responsibillity but in a religious India, Sadhus would be very effective in creating awareness among people which will take care of one part of the project - contamination due to religious reasons. People need to be told that with the increasing population, the rituals need to change.

WITH MY Ideas there should be biomass egraing service outside the major ganga linked cities where the biomass to be stored and then it can be use to make up the biogas fuel then this fuel is sent to the energy making plants and then the biogas fuel is burnt to make electricity, and the remaining waste as manure to the fields of farming so this will reduce the farmers dependencies on the fertilisers

Har shehar mein nadi ke chote se hisse ko boundary se cover kar diya jaaye. Har prakar ka visarjan sirf uss paani mein ho. Wo pani waste management system ke through recycle hota rahe aur wahan pe nadi ka fresh pani bharta rahe. Iss se logon ki aastha ko thes nahi pahunchegi aur ganga saaf bhi rahegi.

Initially hard steps needs to be taken, like sell of plastics bag should be stopped near 500 Mtrs of Ganga, the pandits and the boat person should be made educated for the importance of clean ganag and they should be made front runners for its cleaning by not allowing tourist to throw garbage of any sort in Ganga.
