यदी आप प्लास्टिक के बोतल में पानी, शराब पीते हैं या कोई खाने पीने के समान इस्तेमाल करतेे हैं तो अब होजाईये सावधान! प्रत्येक प्लास्टिक बोतल 1 से 7 तक के ग्रेड पर आंकी जाती है। यह अंक बोतल के निचले हिस्से में बेहद बारीक तरीके से अंकित रहता है। प्रत्येक अंक का मतलब प्लास्टिक में मौजूद जहर की मात्रा दर्शाने के लिए किया जाता है। 3, 6 और 7 नंबर की प्लास्टिक सबसे खतरनाक है।

बी.एच.यू. स्थित चिकित्सा विज्ञान संस्थान में इंडोक्राइन विभाग के एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर डा. नीरज कुमार अग्रवाल ने प्लास्टिक पर शोध में पाया कि बिसफिनाल तत्व पुरुषों में प्रजनन की क्षमता कम कर रहा है। बिसफिनाल की अधिकता होने से शुक्राणुओं की कमी होने लगती है। इससे संतान उत्पत्ति में दिक्कत और कमजोर बच्चों का पैदा होना आम हो गया है। बिसफिनाल दिमाग पर भी बुरा असर डालता है। इस तरह की प्लास्टिक फ्रिज की बोतल, हाट-पाट, टिफिन, पालीथिन, का प्रयोग घातक है।

हर साल यात्रियों की बढ़ती तादाद और आसपास फैले प्लास्टिक कचरे के कारण 18 हजार फूट की ऊंचाई पर स्थित श्रीखंड ग्लेशियर सिकुड़ता जा रहा है। इससे ग्लेशियर को काफी खतरा बढ़ गया है। इन दिनों बागी पुल से होकर निकलने वाली श्रीखंड नदी का जलस्तर बढ़ा हुआ है। जिस तेज गति से ग्लेशियर पिघलता जा रहा है। आने वाले दो से चार वर्षों में इसका अस्तित्व खत्म हो सकता है। ऐसे में आप सब से आग्रह है कि डिस्पोजेबल प्लास्टिक का उपयोग बंद करें।
