“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

Sir, many countries such as Brazil and parts of USA are using bio fuels. Why dont we set up refineries in India to create Bio-fuel. And in terms of marketing it quite easy every minister in India have to use that oil and without any subsidy this will not only create some sort of a trend in so called high society but will also help the environment and a new revolution in terms of energy management. And tourist spots such as H.P. J&k and many other hill stations should use this.

WE can start a new luxury public transport system for those who can pay a large amount on their luxury cars and not travels by public transport because of its rush and problems of cleanliness. This will benefit us in fuel conservation and as well as earning money. Some new luxuries we can offer is reminder of their shedule and timing also can increase interactions with their competitors and partners during their travelling time and also use many creative ideas for long journeys

I think innovative technology should me used as mandatory for energy conservation such as 1. Human sensors in Air conditioners , TV, computers etc which senses the presence of human being and swiches off if no human presence is detected. 2. Smart Engines which swiches of automaticaly on pressing engine clutches for long time and starts quickly on releasing he clutches. 3. Installation of door switches in bathroms, store rooms which automatically swiches off the lights when the door is shutt

i had this in my mind back in my school days. we can use as much as paper and jute bags. we are the top second producer of jute in the world. but nowadays nobody is paying Attention to this and due to this our jute farmers situation is continuosly deteriorating. we can promote jute in international market and countries having plastic bag problems. in this way we can help our jute farmers too. the more you use jute made products the less you use plastic bags. also jute bags look attractive.

Sir 1.if conferences as far as possible are conducted through video conferencing cost of travel can be minimised.2.Heavy traffic jams consume more fuel as vehicle are compelled to move at a slow pace. So diverting the route can be a solution.

This is what I learned from my mom. Whenever step out of your house, make sure you keep a, possibly neatly folded, carry bag (in a handbag or a pocket). Make use of the carry bad for as much purchase as possible. If 10 lakh people manage to do this, we'd save the planet from waste generated by 12 crore plastic bags in a year (just a rough estimate). Reduce Reuse Recycle. #EnergyConservation #SwachhBharathAbhiyaan

India is at a crisis situation where the patient needs to be operated - simple medication won't help. Efficient lifestyle is important but how exactly you will convince and ensure that on a mass of 125 crore people. Is this feasible? Most of that 125 crore mass is uneducated, half educated and don't have any awareness of the problems with energy conservation, pollution or global warming. So, first target should be how to reduce population, how to educate your people well and create awareness.

Whatever innovative ways we might think of a country which has triple the normal population can't really be sustainable. We must aim for actual decrease of population and not only reduced growth of population. More population will always mean more energy demand - whatever be the lifestyle. Our country should ideally have around 60-70 crore at a maximum - but we are now at 125 and we are slated to even surpass China in another 7 years! This is completely unmanageable situation.

How Can we shift our power usage from 240V to 110V, to save power for the country. We can double our power supply to millions of households. Our Electrical gadgets can me made to use 110V power. This would also reduce the risk of power shot-cuts hazards.
