“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

Take the basic needs of sanitization. Why not replace the use of tissue after hand wash by air blowers working on solar. Now days in high societies the use of tissue is unnecessary also in hotels we can make a rule for avoid tissue. This can also help in smart city and clean city.

It is surprising that energy efficient products are expensive and visa versa. Govt. need to penalize industry producing non efficient products and make it more expensive.

BICYCLES. Suggestions: Bicycle carriers should be installed in trains/metro coaches, buses & stations.Fares should encourage users to prefer bicycles, Cycling corridors, Pre/Post-paid bicycles (creating jobs, increase in number of bicycles) according to me, it would also promote ‘Make in India’. This emphasizes the need for a Greener, Cleaner Environment and simultaneously it also creates health/fitness awareness. #Energyconservation #Bicycle
