“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

As in urban area building with so many floors are there. We can think of generation of power using WIND turbine. Which will be used across building so people should available with free cost energy with one time investment. I don't think wind power generation required much research. We can use small size wind turbines for home purpose.

Existing vehicles can be converted to electric vehicles (EV). Provide incentives for EV. If well established auto companies provide conversion kit and loans are available, people will shift to EV. Batteries with 800 km range on single charge are available in China. In short term we can import and in long term, can be manufactured in India. If we research on hydrogen energy from water.Which is cheaply available, also it is eco-friendly.If we have this energy then we will not any source of energy.
