“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

Rain water harvesting system should be mandatory in every society whether be old or new. At least residential areas and government offices should compulsorily use LED. Also I request Mr Prime Minister, to please provide help to those who want to go all solar in their home/ offices. I am from Ahmedabad, and here the solar panel providers say that they can only fulfill half the energy requirements for some agreement with local power providers.

I am belong with a village area and our villagers are using 100 watt bulb for lighting in home due to LED bulb cost is very higher according to normal bulb the normal 100 watt bulb is available in Rs.10 and 10 watt LED bulb is available Rs 250 to 300. if the LED bulb will be used the electricity may be save 90 watt per bulb. so we are requesting to govt that kindly provide the LED bulb at lower cost so that we may use in home and save more electricity for national saving.

HRD ministry encourages interdisciplinary subject but universities like Mumbai are emphasizing old traditional subjects. I am saying so, as our Honourable PM Mr. Modi's.vision can only pave paths if UGC takes the initiative. For e.g a person from biological field has done Ph.D in Bioinformatics from engineering department in another state is not allowed entry for research or teaching any college in Maharastra. Isn't it ridiculous? There should be unified pattern all over the country.
