Under UJALA scheme, the main objective is to promote efficient lighting, enhance awareness on using efficient equipment which reduces electricity bills and helps preserve the environment. Efficient light bulbs, like LEDs, consume only one-tenth of the energy used by ordinary bulbs to provide the same or better light output. So, we ask you to suggest ways for promoting the use of LEDs on this open discussion forum.

UJALA - SUGGESTIONS - I 1. Develop a software on the lines of IESS (India Energy Security Scenarios)2047 for micro level utility to enable consumers to practically view the cash savings by shifting to energy efficient products, including LEDs. Apps may also be developed 2. Regular reminders / flyers with electricity bills for awareness 3. Availability of affordable LEDs at electricity offices / centres also Regards, Rajkaran Singh Bhatti Chandigarh 9780005656

MY SUGGESTION IS : 1.GIVE TWO LED BULB ON EVERY FAMILY ELECTRIC CONNECTION ON COMPULSORY BASIS AND DEDUCT THE VALUE OF BULB IN 12 MONTHLY BASIS INSTALLMENT AND THIS COST BEAR BY ANY BANK OR FINANCING COMPANY BECAUSE IT IS A NO RISK PROFILE LOAN, IF ANY PERSON NOT PAY THE COST OF BULB THAN IMPOSE THE HIGHER COST OF ELECTRICITY CHARGES WITHOUT SUBSIDY.

There was a scheme in one state (i don't remember the state name) where electricity distribution company was paying the required nos of LED bulb to its consumer and cost was getting adjusted in electricity bill over the period of many months, so consumers were not feeling the burden of buying already costly LED bulbs, Please check the feasibility of implementing it across the country.

Gov should not distribute light emitting diode free of cost because it is wasting the money of gov and people don't respond very well to free commodity, instead of it you should provide these at low cost and should make available at every street.it's cost may have put equal to CFL.Today saving of energy is important factor, conventional energy sources are going to end and renewable energy sources are not part of all over home, industry etc.humble request to all"firstly start to home"

The use of LEDs should be start from major and prime cities of INDIA. because we start from there, it will reach to villages after some time. And the power consumption is more in Big cities comparative to villages. The revolution start from Govt associated organizations and offices. To circulate this change and benefits of using LED's, give advertisements on television from Govt side. Most of the people realize by this way as taking this as voluntary approach.
