The Department of Posts is advancing an initiative to establish a standardized, geo-coded addressing system in India, for ensuring simplified addressing solutions for citizen-centric delivery of public and private services. In this regard, the Department had collaborated with IIT Hyderabad for developing a National Addressing Grid, named as Digital Postal Index Number (DIGIPIN). This system will act as a strong and robust pillar of Geospatial Governance, leading to enhancements in public service delivery, faster emergency response and a significant boost to logistics efficiency.

The DIGIPIN layer will act as the addressing reference system which can be used for logically locating addresses with directional properties built into it due to the logical naming pattern followed in its construction.

The DIGIPIN is proposed to be fully available in the public domain and can be easily accessed by everyone. The DIGIPIN Grid system being an addressing referencing system, can be used as the base layer for other ecosystems, including various service providers and utilities, where addressing is one of the processes in the workflow.

This system will act as a strong and robust pillar of Geospatial Governance, leading to enhancements in public service delivery, faster emergency response and a significant boost to logistics efficiency.

The advent of DIGIPIN will mark a revolutionary step in India’s journey towards digital transformation by bridging the crucial gap between physical locations and their digital representation.

The Department has released a beta version of National Addressing Grid ‘DIGIPIN’ on 19.07.2024 for public feedback, the details of which may be accessed through the India Post website: https://www.indiapost.gov.in/vas/Pages/digipin.aspx

The Department of Post in collaboration with MyGov cordially invites you to explore the beta platform and provide constructive feedback, which will help in fine tuning the specifications of the DIGIPIN.

यह भारत में एक मानकीकृत, जियो-कोडेड एड्रेसिंग प्रणाली स्थापित करने की एक पहल है। इसका उपयोग पतों की भौगोलिक स्थिति को समझने के लिए किया जा सकता है। इसका उद्देश्य सार्वजनिक और निजी सेवाओं के नागरिक-केंद्रित वितरण के लिए सरलीकृत एड्रेसिंग समाधान सुनिश्चित करना है । यह प्रणाली भू-स्थानिक शासन के एक मजबूत और सुदृढ़ स्तंभ के रूप में कार्य करेगी। इससे सार्वजनिक सेवा वितरण में वृद्धि, आपातकालीन प्रतिक्रिया में तेजी और रसद दक्षता में उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि होगी।

Digi Pin ke baare mein kuch mahatvapoorn baatein: 1. *Secure*: Digi Pin ek secure platform hai jisme aapke transactions ko safe rakha jata hai. 2. *Aasaan*: Digi Pin se payments karna bahut aasaan hai, aapko sirf apna mobile number aur PIN daalna hota hai. 3. *Digital*: Digi Pin ek digital payment system hai, isliye aapko kisi bhi prakaar ka cash ya card ki zaroorat nahin hoti. 4. *Kisi bhi bank se juda*: Digi Pin kisi bhi bank se juda hua hai, isliye aap kisi bhi bank account se payments kar sakte hain. we need to upgrade our adhar card with email id kind of id extra added in it. such that we use that ID to log in to different interfaces of govt websites & apps. we should create a website or app in which we can log in through that id. after logging in we could add & save multiple addresses on that app with full details. Details like longitude & latitude position through map, full address, nearby information, extra details, pin code, photographs.... after putting all those information a code is generated after ai varification of the location. that code can when again put on the app then it reveals the complete address of the location. & when multiple users use this app for the location then the app ai algorithm can also help people to auto fill the needed information through all the data generated from other people... govt should also make a email & cloud service for data privacy of Indians.. make it paid survive at minimal cost just like railway...
