The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

SC, ST and other Backward Classes have now enjoyed the benefit of reservations for fairly long period of time and the Reservations can therefore be abolished now. In case, it is impractical to do away with reservations, then all the reservations should be applicable only for the girls / ladies of SC, ST and Backward Classes. There is need to add verifiable income criteria to ensure that the benefit reaches the most deserving cases. Minimum acceptable competence level, must be ensured for all.

The IT capital of India has enough technology for MOM (which has made us proud). I am sure we can use the technology and the expertise we have in Bangalore to create a national database for all the people (including cleaners and drivers) who work in schools.
If the person is accused or convicted in any criminal case, the database should be updated so that they are not rehired anywhere. The rape incidents are happening due to lack of background checks on school staff.

Please keep politics out of education and start taking very stringent actions against rapists in Bangalore. Not a single convict had been punished hence giving a free leash to men to do what they please. All we can hear is people in power condemning the heinous act. Please let us have justice and help take this evil out of our country. If every politician is against the crime then why is there a delay in passing an act to give the most severe punishment for such crimes?

Honorable Prime Minister Sir
We can only teach and encourage girls to go to school as long as they see the school as a place to have fun. Bangalore, as you know has been unfortunately been facing multiple incidents of "rape of small kids from age 3 to 8"!!!
It is not only shocking but has started giving us fear and lot of apprehension. We have become over protective of our kids and hence curb their freedom which will in turn kill their creativity, interest in education.please take action Sir.

but it had been started with a very good objective of uplifting the socially backward society to give them equality of opportunities. But with time its meaning and the way it has been taken by the people has left many of us to believe that it has stopped delivering for what it was made. People have started misusing it. There are many examples of people making false documents just to get a seat in a college or a job. This leaves the more eligible candidate to give their seat to a person belonging

Whether to have a reservation/quota system or not is still a debatable question in India. The Indian Constitution has a law for the same and according to this; reservation has been made to bring underprivileged classes at par with privileged or general ones. There are numerous reservations like reservation for women, reservation for physically challenged, reservation for economically backward class, reservation for Scheduled Castes etc. Though, reservation system is an evident discrimination,

job recruitment should be based on the intelligence of the candidate and on the degree.there should be a common criteria for classifying every candidate and it is only possible by removing all the bariers of caste system....today much eligible candidate does get admision due to reservation quota system...thus lacks behind loosing the confidence even to turn up,.......the on n all thing is remove desperity of caste and provide cash benfits to poor instead of proving quotas......today ratio of general category is increasing in poor sanitation education and other levels.....dicard caste system and invent a broader scope system of inetlligence and competition on labour basis not on quota basis
