The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

Female feticide & infanticide is not the only issues with a girl.At every stage of life she is discriminated & neglected for basic nutrition, education & living standard. When she was in the womb, she was forced to miss the moment when she was supposed to enter the world. After killing her she was thrown into a trash.During childhood she was gifted a broom,In her teenage she missed healthy food,During college days she was forced to get married,a stage where illiteracy, resulted in high fertility rate

Even to this day, there are millions of families in our country, who still strongly believe in indiscriminating against a girl child. During drawing room conversations and parties, the very families who talk great things about encouraging girls in all fields, do not actually practically follow their words when it comes to a girl deciding about her career or life partner. When a couple plan to have a baby, right then there need to be counselling assistance about bringing up a girl child.

Sir,This is my first post in your portal. Thank you for your initiative to get closer to common man like me.I am posting this time to bring to you one of the menace that still grips the country and is against our initiative on Ekta (Unity). This is untouchability.I happened to watch a TV program which throws light into this.Children from Dalit community are denied of education and basic needs just because they are part of a Dalit family.I request you to make this a point in next Mann Ki Baat.

If Shiv Sena say that they ask for one Deputy CM post, just come forward to offer them 2,3 or more as you are Big Brother. More you offer them more they will become weaker.
