In India mainly in Urban area a vast population go for morning walk and visits different centers ( visiting health care centers, Jim, yoga centers etc. ) to stay fit. In this process they burn energy for the benefit of their body. Sir this energy can be utilized for the benefit of Nation. I decided to join the 'Clean India' campaign and do my bit. I decided to pick up garbage littered on roads while going for my daily walk. However, I realized within first few minutes of my effort the reason for bad state of cleanliness on our streets. I didn't find a single dustbin on the road where I could deposit the garbage I had collected while walking. Even markets where thousands visit everyday don't have the basic infrastructure to help maintenance of clean surroundings even if want to.

The drive for curriculum which includes cleanliness needs fine tuning . As earlier cleanliness was included previously in SUPW (Social Useful and Productive Work) but failed to deliver. This time much thinking needed.

A very simple way of making the footpaths clean, at least in commercial areas: If every shop is given the responsibility of cleaning the footpath area right in front of it (only the area in front of it), with due penalties if they dont along with surprise checks, then, I think they will do everything they can to keep their respective footpath areas, neat and clean. If there is a building, the landlord can be given the responsibility.
