Cleanliness has to become a way of life for all. It cannot be forced upon the unwilling. We need to start educating our children from the very beginning, the importance of cleanliness, just as we teach them the importance of personal hygiene. The civics syllabus in schools needs to be modified to ensure focus on this. Including some real-life examples to illustrate the dangers of filthy surroundings will impact their young minds and leave a lasting impression.

Today I did श्रमदान at LC No 571 and 572 in Nagpur - Itwari section of SEC RAILWAY. Three persons were fined for passing urine in open near LC. One toilet is available at LC for exclusive use of the Gatekeeper. I strongly felt that Railways, as a part of its social responsibility, should make toilets at LCs available for common public. We may develop suitable mechanism for satisfactory cleaning and maintenance to handle increased load.

I think children should be encouraged to keep their surroundings clean by engaging them to clean their school premises be it government or private school from an early age. This will help them inculcate the habit of living in a clean environment and prevent them from dirtying the environment.

Keeping India clean is a great initiative.. But what about after the public put the waste in the designated areas.. do we have any plans for putting that waste in recycle.. Or decompose it.. I see many dumpyards having huge piles of waste.. shall we not look at ways to use the waste in better ways..
