People of Chandigarh needs to use the Public Transport viz. Buses, E-Rickshaws, Gas based Rickshaws instead of Personal vehicles and Start pooling their vehicles also. People themselves need to help in reducing Pollution. NGT has taken great initiative of charging fine of Rs. 5000/- on use of plastic poly thins. STA needs to recruit more drivers ad run more eco-friendly buses to reduce pollution and make Chandigarh a world class Smart City.

i had a idea
that we can put a filter at the mouth of exhausts of vehicles
the filter will contain various layers of absorptance material which can absorb several harmful gases like carbon monoxide which is a poisonous gas
and several gases which can harm our environment
i know it will work
and it can decrease 58% of pisonous gases from our environment and make our country green

people can change their lifestyle also.if someone is not going for far distance,he/she can go on bicycle,on foot also.going on one side two, three people can go together. Govt.vehicals should be used.make people aware of it.campaign against pollution should be there.manytimes vehicals are on road only for fun sake,as youngsters do it,it should be avoided, each and every body has to perform his duty to make city pollution free, only then we can be successful.yes it is our duty.

earlier some commercial vehicles were fitted with exhaust cyclone filter. which removed the pollution particles. and exhaust was with out polluting particles.
this cyclone filter should be compulsorily fitted to all vehicles.

The main Reason of pollution is Diesel Engine- We should stop subsidizing Diesel. Apart from That, the price of petrol should be equal to Diesel so people buy less diesel Cars. It's not gonna give right away effect but it will give benefit in future.

Before banning something, we need to work on the options that are available to mitigate the ill effect of air pollution:
1.the need to have alternate source of fuel is must now
2.also need to rationalize our approach towards use of any kind of vehicle whether diesel or petrol driven
3.public transportation system needs to be revamped so that everybody can make full use of the same in the way as one would like to see it
4.stringent monitoring of traffic rules and pollution norms y

Chandigarh - Vehicular pollution - II
1. Pollution control checks and certification mandatory - every 2 months - for all vehicles. Government vehicles should set the trend
2. Proper awareness campaigns in the tricity must, before issuing challans for violations
3. Recognition / Awards for best managed vehicle in the respective categories
4. Rapid addition and uniform spread of CNG / LPG filling stations
