Digital Locker is one of the key initiatives under the Digital India Programme. A beta version (http://digitallocker.gov.in) of the same has been released on 10th Feb. 2015, by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India.

Digital Locker is aimed at minimizing the usage of physical documents and enable sharing of e-documents across agencies. The sharing of the e-documents will be done through registered repositories thereby ensuring the authenticity of the documents online. Residents can also upload their own electronic documents and digitally sign them using the e-sign facility. These digitally signed documents can be shared with Government organizations or other entities.

Key features of the Digital Locker System are:

• 10 MB of free space in digital locker to residents to access their documents through Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and also securely store e-documents.
• e-sign online service to digitally sign documents

Residents are invited to use the Beta version of the Digital Locker System and provide suggestions and feedback on the same. Suggestions are also invited on the use cases for services which can be additionally provided by the Digital Locker System.

Every university in india should be bound by law to award degree to the graduated students within a specified time frame. Graduates suffer a lot because of the delay in awarding degree by university authorities. They are not able to apply for jobs etc. in many places.

Dear PM Sir!!! Nowadays the government is undertaking an innovative step of paperless governance and this has impressed me a lot. Recently i gave a written exam of Territorial Army in which i wrote an essay on Digitalisation of Governance in India. I have an idea in my mind which may boost the percentage of election and voting across India. We are now linking AADHAR card with all bank accounts and also to the LPG accounts. Sir...if we can link the AADHAR number to the Election Commission’s Voter list and can make such a system through which AADHAR and voter list will be linked together, we can be able to know whether a person has casted his vote in the recent elections, if yes then it’s OK but if not we can freeze all his pending government works and all benefits given by the government. This will definitely increase the rate of voting all over India and will also stop bogus voting which is also a major problem as AADHAR will be linked to the voter list. Dear sir i am sure this will definitely help us for our efforts of paperless governance in one more field.

But after passing Mtech from this well known institutions like ISI(Indian statistical institute), the candidate with the bac

The initiative is good, but aadhar cards are still not available to all the citizens, and also when we are going to sign up the server says UID not responding, so i think firstly we have to develop the aadhar infrastructure then "digital locker" will help us a lot.
