The Prime Minister shared a visionary approach to transform the development journey of our villages in the form of the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. The initiative calls upon MPs to select a village in their constituency and make it a Model Village by 2016. Furthermore, the number of model villages should increase as time progresses so that in a decade a large number of villages become Model Villages across India.

The rationale behind a landmark idea such as this is clear- India lives in the villages and India will only progress when our villages progress. Development of villages can happen best when everybody walks shoulder to shoulder and contributes towards the comprehensive development of the village. And who better than the local Members of Parliament to drive this change!

This specially created forum on MyGov invites out of the box ideas on how the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana can become the driving force in bringing a qualitative difference in our villages. Lets make the development of our villages a grand mass movement and together create a golden future for rural India.

Crores of youth are unemployed where as age of retirement is increased from 58 to 60 or 62 or 65 in some cases and in some states which is wrong. Salary saved due to Retirement at 58 years can create two more new jobs at entry stage in the same department after making pension payments to the retiree. The same retiree who is willing to work up to 65 years with full pay may be allowed to work(optional) after 58 years up to 65 years with pension +HR + Fuel + entertainment allowances.

Steps must be taken so that Parents send their girl child to school instead of sending them for cleaning utensils. The girl child should not be treated as paraya dhan and parents should invest on their health and education. Parents hesitate to invest in health or education due to the upcoming burden of dowry and marriage after a few years. Whatever education she has is nothing to satisfy the bridegroom party.

We should tackle diversion of money from cleanliness to drunkenness. Most of the household divert money given for building latrine to buy wine or medicines. Open defecation should be punished with fines up to 10/- per occasion. Person found openly defecating without sufficient reasons should be asked to clean his night soil and pay fine. Street dustbins must be provided in various locations. Most important we should migration from rural to urban centers.

In my estimate, out of total amount involved in corruption in entire world between 2004-2014, 80% took place in India alone. What a shame. We should clean our dirty mind before we clean our villages. Craze for wealth should be replaced by craze for dedication for social cause to please Gandhiji’s soul.

Gandhiji stood for cleanliness and was against manual scavenging. We are ashamed to see manual scavenging even today. We boast of becoming a powerful nation but we are a shameless lot. Our streets are dirty and our hearts are also very dirty. We should try to clean our environment and at the same time clean our hearts from selfishness, corruption, arrogance and conspiracy.

Rural India should be free from manual scavenging. Villages are known for open defecation on roads. Most of the urban centers are so .But in some backward states it is prevalent. To prevent manual scavenging, Community latrines must be provided in each mohalla at one rupee per use and free for BPL families. All village households should be provided with latrines and diversion of government grant by beneficiary should attract punishment.

The initiative of our honorable PM is welcome. More thrust should be given for developing villages where 70% of India lives. All villages must have clean drinking water, good sanitized roads, nobody remains hungry and all health and educational problems are addressed suitably by providing good schools and health centers.

Regarding this scheme, a healthy competition shall be there between MPs for best "Adarsh Gram" where each village will be compete for various parameters that defines standard of living of people.
