Khadi and village industries reflect the spirit of rural India. To strengthen them, we must blend tradition with innovation. Digital Craft Hubs can train artisans in online selling, QR payments and simple design tools, giving them direct market access. Eco-Innovation Labs can guide youth to create modern, eco-friendly products using natural dyes, bamboo fibre and solar-powered tools. An “Adopt an Artisan” program can offer one-year support for training, tools and marketing. A digital Khadi Skill Passport can record each artisan’s skills and help them access fair wages and loans. Women’s self-help groups should get priority training, while youth can act as Village Brand Ambassadors to promote khadi locally and online. With fairness, innovation and community support, we can uplift artisans and move closer to a self-reliant rural India.

The amendments in the Khadi and Village Industries sector have modernized the traditional khadi movement while preserving its cultural roots. These reforms strengthened rural employment, improved product quality, and helped khadi emerge as a sustainable and globally recognized brand.
