Design an Insignia for Indian National Defence University

Technical Parameters

  • The participant should upload the Insignia as a file in JPG or PNG format.
  • The winner of the competition shall be required to submit the design in an editable and open file format and on a digital format.
  • Please do not imprint or watermark your Insignia design.
  • Please note that the Insignia design must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.
  • Insignia should preferably be designed in colour.
  • Please bear in mind that for actual utilization of the winning Insignia, the size may vary from 3 cms x 3 cms to 75 x 75 cms. While designing this aspect should be kept in mind.
  • The motto should be less than 05 words.
  • Entry must be submitted to the Creative corner section of http://mygov.in.
  • Make sure your myGov profile is accurate and updated as we will use the information on the profile for further communication. This includes your name, photo and phone number. Entries by those with incomplete profiles would be rejected.

Evaluation Criteria

  • The Competition is open to all Indian Citizens residing within and outside India.
  • Evaluation would be done by the jury at Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff which will then be approved by Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee. Once an entry is submitted on MyGov, other MyGov users can ‘like’ the entries. Once an entry is submitted, the person who submitted the entry can share an auto generated Tweet/Post stating that he or she has shared an entry on MyGov. Similarly, those who ‘like’ an entry can share an auto-generated Tweet/Post stating they have liked a particular entry.
  • Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, composition, technical excellence, simplicity, artistic merit and visual impact and how well they communicate the essence, pride and importance of an Institution of Higher Defence Learning in India.
  • The Insignia must not contain any provocative, objectionable or inappropriate content.
  • The Insignia and the motto designed by the winner will be the intellectual property of Indian National Defence University (INDU) and the designer cannot exercise any right over it. The prize winning Insignia and the motto are meant to be worn by all service personnel posted as staff and faculty, students officers including foreign officers (both military and civilian) who would have graduated in a yearlong M Phil or Masters programme as per the laid down norms.
  • The participant must be the same person who has designed the Insignia and the motto. Plagiarism would not be allowed.
  • All the entries received by the department will be placed before a Selection Committee for final selection.
  • Selection Committee may decide to pick Insignia and motto from different entries and appropriately divide the prize money.
  • The decision of the Selection Committee will be final and binding on all the contestants.
  • The disqualified entries shall not be used by the Department for any purpose and the Department shall have no intellectual rights over the same.
  • The entries received earlier for this competition either on e-mail or by post in hard copy would also be considered during evaluation. Those who had already submitted Insignia as per the earlier notification in leading news papers may also participate by submitting new entries during this time.
  • Participants need to submit their entry for the complete contest (i.e. Insignia design & motto). Partial entry submitted by the participants would be disqualified and would not be considered for evaluation.

Any legal proceedings arising out of the competition/its entries/winners shall be subject to local jurisdiction of Delhi State.
