I am pleased to submit my video for the MyGov Video Making Contest on the New Criminal Laws. Through this video, I have tried to present the key provisions in a simple, engaging and informative manner, with the aim of creating greater awareness among citizens, especially the youth, about the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. I hope this initiative contributes to better understanding of India’s new criminal justice framework.

Nyaya Shruti is a technology initiative that enables virtual hearings and examination of witnesses, accused persons and other participants through video conferencing, reducing delays and travel. The three new criminal laws, implemented from 1 July 2024, are: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 – replaces IPC; defines offences and punishments. Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 – replaces CrPC; governs criminal procedures and trials. Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023 – replaces Evidence Act; governs rules of evidence.
