In 1947, India celebrated its first Independence Day following centuries of colonial rule and the trauma of a violent partition. The country inherited a stagnant economy and was heavily reliant on imports, with millions lacking access to basic necessities, healthcare, or quality education. The primary focus of that era was to consolidate the newly formed republic, draft a unifying constitution, and establish basic self-sufficiency.
Conversely, the vision for 2047—the centenary of independence—is rooted in becoming a fully developed nation. As outlined in the government’s long-term developmental agenda, 2047 imagines an India free from the remnants of colonial mindsets, possessing a world-class economy. Instead of struggling with basic survival, modern Independence Day celebrations in 2047 will look back on milestones in space exploration, indigenous defence systems, and global dominance in technologies like Artificial Intelligence and quantum computing.

Name: Danish Class:8 School: G.G.U.P.S.
