The Enforcement Directorate should improve transparency, speed of investigations, and accountability. Use modern technology, reduce political influence, ensure fair trials, and strengthen legal processes. Proper training of officers and timely case resolution will increase public trust and make ED more effective in fighting financial crimes and corruption.

The functioning of the Enforcement Directorate can be further strengthened by adopting advanced digital technologies for efficient case management and faster processing. Introducing structured timelines for investigations and enhancing coordination with other agencies through integrated digital platforms can improve overall effectiveness. Regular publication of simplified reports will help increase public awareness and trust. Continuous training of officers in modern financial systems, data analytics, and emerging technologies will further enhance their capabilities. These initiatives will support a more efficient, transparent, and technology-driven system.”

Mere according ED ka functioning tab aur better ho sakta hai jab usme transparency aur fairness dono maintain ho. Investigation fast aur time-bound hona chahiye taki justice delay na ho. Aaj ke time me financial crimes complex ho gaye hain, isliye modern technology jaise data analytics aur AI ka use badhaya jana chahiye. Saath hi, ED ko political pressure se free rehna chahiye, tabhi logon ka trust strong hoga. Officers ki training aur accountability bhi important hai, taki system efficient aur reliable ban sake...

Continution- Dedicated Economic Courts: Create fast-track PMLA and FEMA courts for quicker trials and asset recovery, modeled on the U.S. District Courts for financial crimes. AI-Driven Financial Intelligence: Deploy machine learning tools for pattern recognition in suspicious transactions, similar to FinCEN’s AI-based SAR (Suspicious Activity Report) analysis system. Global Liaison Offices: Open ED liaison desks in London, Washington D.C., and Singapore to coordinate with FBI, FinCEN, and Europol on transnational money laundering. Exchange Programs: Send officers for joint training in forensic accounting, crypto-tracing, and asset recovery under UNODC and FATF frameworks. Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLATs): Strengthen MLATs for faster extradition and asset repatriation, following the U.S.–EU model of cross-border enforcement.

Dear Modiji, India can strengthen its Enforcement Directorate (ED) to match the efficiency and credibility of agencies like the U.S. FBI, FinCEN, and Europe’s Europol by combining legal autonomy, advanced technology, and global cooperation. The goal is to evolve ED from a reactive enforcement body into a proactive financial intelligence and compliance institution. Statutory Independence: Convert ED into an autonomous statutory body under Parliament, similar to the FBI’s charter or Europol’s legal framework, ensuring freedom from political interference. Fixed Tenure for Leadership: Provide a five-year non-renewable term for the Director, with transparent appointment through a bipartisan committee. Independent Oversight Board: Establish a Financial Enforcement Oversight Commission comprising retired judges, economists, and forensic experts to review major investigations and prevent misuse.
