The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, under the Sagarmala Programme, intends to create an ecosystem for the development of Ro-Ro (Roll-on, Roll-off) ferries and waterway transportation throughout the nation. When compared to traditional modes of transportation, this method of transportation offers a number of advantages, including shorter travel distances, cheaper logistics, and less pollution.

The draft guidelines aim to standardise and streamline the development and operation of ferry services, as well as, promote ease of doing business by reducing delays and conflicts, Additionally, guidelines will aid in boosting private players' confidence, hence expanding their involvement and encouraging healthy competition in such ventures.

The draft of Guidelines for Operationalization of Ro-Ro and Ro-Pax ferry service along the coast of India is issued for public consultation for seeking feedback and suggestions.

Respected sir/ madam,
I would like to recommend health wellness spa along coast line of Kerala, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka bordering Maharashtra and goa regions with boat ferry development in these regions to increase foreign visitors and provide tourism jobs to unemployed youth in hotel industry etc.
Till now only Kerala state reaped the benefits of international tourism providing health spa with yoga centers, aroma therapies, naturopathy etc.this tendency to increase tourism is to be extended to Andhra Pradesh,Gujarat state, Karnataka coast of udipi - mangalore region etc to increase employment in tourism and hotel industry and indirectly benefiting Indian economy with international travelers.

Govt would do well to have a rule of what is public interest & all roud returns & build it across India .No more gandy marji of tughlaq collegium & actvists who have destroyed bharat , all from loot of Hindu $$ Do not repeat the errors of mumbai local train all of the railway subsidy spent on local train & ayyashi of railway officials result ghetto of mumbai. even if half the subisdy would have been spread across, we should have seen metros /locals across India & saving of fuel , no property sky high rates & black money in zillions ! ( BTW when is benami properties list declared. Not yet 1 attempt to digitize land/property records ) !
Distance of commute saved . Ease of living, density. shocked a small bridge built after 70 years in gulawat lotus valley near indore ! govt used to run a boat service as per whims & fancies. In India inaccessible places by road/see would extend to size of many countries. Include all places cut of by rivers/deep ditches + ofcourse Sea in this

7- An amusement park on the scale of Disneyland should be created in Lakshya deep islands and it should be connected by ferries and small aircraft.
8- Temple tourism should be promoted to attract large population by creating iscon, Swaminarayan or Balaji temples on islands.

4- Dedicated waterway freight corridors should be developed so that it’s easier for coast guard to distinguish between various ferries.
5- North Indian states should be allowed to own coastline on lease or rent. It will be helpful for both states and the coastline also got developed.
6- A network to connect small aircraft who can land on rivers and lakes should be connected to ferry system to give better reach to North Indian states.

1- An app to check high tide warning and ferry price should be prepared. 2-Natural disaster should be a common feature across all govt apps like cyclone and tsunami. 3- Private players like yatra and makemytrip should be brought in for discussion as they’re the expert in travel and tourism.
