As a part of Independence Day Celebrations - 2026, an essay competition is organized by Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) in coordination with MyGov. The contest aims to create awareness about the rich cultural heritage, developmental journey and transformative progress of the North Eastern Region of India as well as to highlight the significant role and contributions of women in driving change and development in the region.
Essays are invited under below mentioned Themes:
1.From Periphery to Prosperity: The Transformational Journey of North East India
2. Women of North East India: Leading Change and Development
Evaluation Criteria
Winners will be selected based on the evaluation of entries by the designated Screening Committee of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. The Committee will assess the essay on the basis of the following criteria, and its decision shall be final and binding and shall not be subject to challenge through any mode:
- Relevance to the given topic
- Originality and creativity of ideas
- Clear structure and effective presentation of thoughts
- Quality of language, grammar, and expression
- Use of relevant facts, examples, and supporting details
- Strength and impact of the conclusion
- Compliance with the prescribed guidelines, including word limit (approx 500 words), format, and submission requirements
Rewards:
1. Top 10 winners of the competition will be awarded with the certificates.
2. Three winners will be selected from the Eight North Eastern States for exciting prizes and opportunities to witness the Independence Day Celebrations on 15th August 2026 at the Red Fort, New Delhi.
