The Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, in collaboration with MyGov, invites citizens to participate in the Cyber Suraksha Reel Making Competition 2026.

The competition aims to encourage citizens to use creativity and digital storytelling to spread awareness about cybercrime, emerging online scams and safe digital practices.

Participants are invited to create a short, engaging and informative reel that helps people recognise cybercrime red flags, understand how common scams operate and know what action to take to stay safe online.

Reels may creatively address cyber safety situations such as Digital Arrest scams, investment scams, KYC fraud, phishing, malicious apps/APK files, fake job scams, QR/UPI fraud, social media fraud, identity theft, deepfakes, online harassment or other relevant cyber threats.

Participants may use storytelling, skits, animation, humour, demonstrations, conversations or any other creative format, provided that the information shared is factually accurate and the cyber-safety message is clear.

Every reel should encourage citizens to adopt responsible online behaviour and remember:

      Stop. Think. Then Take Action.

In case of financial cyber fraud, immediately call 1930 and report the incident at www.cybercrime.gov.in.

Use your creativity to help build a more aware, alert and Cyber Safe India.

      Selection Criteria
      1) Accuracy of Cyber Awareness Information: Whether the cybercrime information, modus operandi, red flags and safety advice presented are factually correct.
      2) Clarity of Message: How clearly and simply the reel communicates the cyber-safety message to citizens.
      3) Creativity & Originality: Originality of the concept, execution, storytelling and presentation.
      4) Relevance & Impact: Ability of the reel to create awareness and encourage safer online behaviour.
      5) Storytelling & Engagement: Effectiveness of the hook, narrative, visual treatment and overall viewer engagement.
      6) Practical Safety Takeaway: Whether viewers understand what they should or should not do after watching the reel.
      7) Technical Quality: Overall audio, video, readability and presentation quality.
      8) Compliance with Guidelines: Adherence to the prescribed technical parameters, content requirements and Terms & Conditions.

      Technical Parameters
      1) The reel must be an original video created by the participant.
      2) The video should be created in vertical/portrait format (9:16).
      3) The maximum duration of the reel should be 90 seconds.
      4) The video should preferably be submitted in MP4 format.
      5) The reel may be created in Hindi, English or any Indian regional language. Where required, subtitles may be used to improve accessibility and understanding.
      6) Audio and visuals should be clear. Text appearing on screen should be readable on a mobile device.
      7) Participants must ensure that all cyber-safety information used in the reel is factually accurate and aligned with official advisories/guidance issued by I4C/Cyber Dost and relevant Government authorities.
      8) The reel should include a clear cyber-safety takeaway and, wherever relevant, the official reporting message:
“If you are a victim of financial cyber fraud, call 1930 or report immediately at www.cybercrime.gov.in.”
      9) The submission must not contain watermarks, copyrighted third-party material or unauthorised logos, music, footage or intellectual property.
      10) Where submission through a social-media link is permitted, the account/post should remain publicly accessible during the evaluation period.
      11) Participants must submit the required details through the designated MyGov submission mechanism, including the reel/video or permitted public link and any declarations prescribed by the organisers.
