      AICTE under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India in collaboration with MyGov, NASSCOM, UGC, i4c and Persistent Systems is organizing an ambitious ‘Smart India Hackathon 2017’ involving all the technology institutions (6500+) with 30 Lakh plus students across India. Smart India Hackathon 2017 aims to create a model where energy and creativity of these youngsters would be used to develop innovative digital solutions which will help build the nation. It will be world’s biggest Hackathon till date and it is hoped that it gets cited in the Guinness Book of World Records. The Grand Finale will be organized at 25+ centers/cities distributed all over India. Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister for HRD, Govt. of India has launched Smart India Hackathon 2017 on MyGov platform on Nov 9, 2016. He is the Chief Patron for this initiative. The main USP of our ‘Smart India Hackathon 2017’ initiative is that the problem statements have been identified by 28 Govt. ministries/ institutions/departments based on their requirements and will be used to challenge students for developing innovative digital solutions. This includes Ministry of Railways, External Affairs Ministry, Ministry of Defence, Indian Space Research Organization, Dept. of Atomic Energy, etc. Till date, approximately 600 problems statements have been proposed and can be viewed on http://innovate.mygov.in/sih2017 In order to promote Smart India Hackathon 2017 amongst students and faculty of all the Institutes, Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister of HRD, Govt. of India will address the technology institutes and its students LIVE on Wednesday, Jan 18, 2017 at 2 PM.
