Smart City Hyderabad Live Talk

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) takes the pride to initiate the citizen consultation for Stage 2 of the Smart City Challenge through its website www.hyderabadsmartcity.co.in , Mygov Discussion Page, various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, etc.

As part of the process, GHMC is organizing an online talk where different stakeholders of the city will be explained about the Smart City Mission.

A presentation with details about the Smart City Mission, Smart City Challenge (Including Vision, Goals, Area Based Development Plans & Pan City Initiatives) and how residents can participate in submitting their ideas shall be presented.The citizens of the city will be educated about how they can submit their views/suggestions.

Citizens of Hyderabad may post their specific questions about the Smart City Mission on or before 10.15 am of 10/11/2015 at smartcity.hyderabad@gmail.com

The session shall be chaired by: Shri.B. Janardhan Reddy, I.A.S. (Commissioner& Special Officer, GHMC)

Open safe Non Veg markets where a citizen can purchase processed clean mutton, chicken, fish, beef etc at one place, and encourage to have small mini slaughter houses at every circle to check illegal activities.

Stray animal menace: There is no participation of public in the entire activity of Stray animal control. Involve Public, RWA, NGOs, Pvt Vets, Vet Hospitals for STERILISATION OF STRAYS. Establish mobile surgical camps to conduct sterilisation camps in slums. Establish few more animal rescue shelters where you can keep wounded or irritated strays until healing or till they get docile.

Footpath businesses have to shifted to local nearby Municipal vacant lands strictly and part of the unused park lands may be used for this purposes.

Digging on the Roads: Major issue which has to be addressed scientifically by laying a common Duct system along with the roads for cables of various departments / purposes with future compatible capacity to avoid frequent diggings. Which may be combined to have side drains for rain water storm water clearance with multiple water harvesting pits at every corner of the road side.

To improve greenery: Call the interested residential welfare associations for developing small nurseries in vacant lands in their colonies and encourage free supply of fruit bearing / floral plantations to the citizens at their neighborhood which definitely increase the greenery.

There are programs on Core road maintenance by adopting ROAD DOCTOR machines, but similarly Non Core roads have to be maintained simultaneously by adopting more and more no of machines to check the frequent complaints.

One more issue is at every dumper place your sanitary staff will segregate the plastic and other recyclable materials which will make the area a very big mess. All the tricycle door to door collecting employees are demanding monthly bills and no account for it, despite of paying taxes a citizen is paying money which never goes to GHMC or to Govt. There must be guidelines on this.

One more major issue is Lapses in clearing bills to Contractors. Every contractor in GHMC are vexed with the series of signatures required to get their bills cleared. I came to know that no Swatch Hyderabad transport agencies got their bills yet even after deploying vehicles 6 months ago. How can you expect good work from them in such cases. At all levels engg section has to be streamlined with Online Measurement recording to to day basis.

Hi Sir, I would like to bring the following issues to your kind notice that: 1. There are no side drains for water logging core roads in Hyderabad, and no attempts made to have these on the sides of roads. The main reason for road damage is this in Hyderabad leading frequent re-carpeting or pothole repairs. 2 Parking problem everywhere: To check this you may convert GHMC open lands and unused park places at various places for this purpose for a monthly / annual nominal charges to locals

Some of the areas GHMC need to look at immediately 1.Infrastructure(roads/buildings/flyovers/transport) 2.Traffic (free exit to highways from city) 3.Drainage 4.Safety (fire,old buildings,flooding) 5.Greenery/lake protection 6.Health/Hygiene(garbage/public defecation)
