The Ministry formulates and implements policies for fisheries development, livestock growth, and dairy sector enhancement to improve farmers’ income, nutritional security, and rural livelihoods. It focuses on increasing productivity, promoting sustainable practices, strengthening value chains, and enhancing exports in these sectors.

Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying – Oversees livestock health, breed improvement, dairy development, and disease control programmes, including vaccination drives and genetic upgradation initiatives.
