Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers

The Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers comprises three Departments working towards the growth and development of the nation's chemical, fertilizer, and pharmaceutical sectors:

• Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals – Responsible for the policy formulation, planning, development, and regulation of the chemicals and petrochemicals industries.
• Department of Fertilisers – Functions under the ambit of the Ministry with the primary objective of ensuring the adequate and timely availability of fertilizers at affordable prices, to maximize agricultural production across the country.
• Department of Pharmaceuticals – Established to provide focused attention to the growth and development of India's high-potential pharmaceutical industry.
