Constitutional Bodies
Constitutional Bodies of India are institutions established directly under the Constitution of India to safeguard constitutional principles, ensure institutional accountability, and support the effective functioning of democratic governance. These bodies perform specialised functions relating to elections, public finance, recruitment to public services, auditing, intergovernmental relations, and the protection of constitutional and social interests.
Constitutional Bodies play an important role in strengthening transparency, accountability and the rule of law. They exercise their respective constitutional mandates independently and contribute to ensuring that governance is carried out in accordance with the provisions and principles of the Constitution.
Each institution is governed by specific constitutional provisions and carries out functions assigned to it under the Constitution to support the country's democratic and administrative framework.
