On 28th February every year, India celebrates the National Science Day to mark the glorious achievement of one of India’s best-known scientists, Nobel Laureate physicist Sir C V Raman. On this day in 1928, Sir C V Raman discovered the spectroscopy phenomenon that was named after him as the ‘Raman Effect’. He has inspired the nation to build its scientific and technological prowess for the welfare of the citizens.
