The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Some of the impotent...points for safety as of my knowledge.... 1. Safety policy should follow (daily...5 Min...safety induction classes through public addressing system (TV)) 2. camera policy (some important area should be monitored by safety Dept) (If any incident happed on the camera area we can easily find the root-case...) 3. Health policy (daily 5 to 10 minutes exercises for all employee before going to work through music (P/A) and everey year health check up camp...)

Like Make In India-campaign there must b a campaign HELP FARMERS.Illiteracy, poverty and backwardness are still gripping most of our farmers, who r in most of d cases unaware of govt schemes to develop agriculture. At least in eastern U.P. farmers lack info about Kisan Credit Cards, and bank officials take frm them heavy commission on the issue of KCC.Distt level officials mst b made responsible to distribute KCC liberally or face harsh action.

Request, Don't let the mining sector being in CONTRACTORS hand. Select the genuine and educated persons to handle those sectors. Let the workers feel comfort and fearless jobs if any unexpected incidents happens while doing their work at workstation.

Our education system is giving broad-based education, not specific to any select-field."Hence, mining gets badly treated". I know there are BE courses, but if there are any ITI, DIPLOMA institutes offering 'mining'-specialty then, their experience will come as great input in framing REGULATING Structure to strengthen imparting skills in mining-in this newer exploding sector. "I feel, Govt. must rope in Foreign expertise" Ext.inputs (outsiders' view) will go a long-way to give the best shape .
