Electrical and Electronic Equipment ( EEE ) and materials are one of the biggest challenges to sustainability. EEE are responsible for highly complex waste generation, energy-intensive manufacturing, usage and waste processing.
Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) observes Swachhata Pakhwada 2022 from 1st February 2022 to 15th February 2022 promoting ‘E-waste se Raksha- Swachhata hi Suraksha’. Citizens are invited to share their ideas on how EEE products and materials can be made more sustainable.
We value your suggestions which would be instrumental in encouraging efforts towards sustainable practices in Electrical and Electronic products and spreading the awareness about same.
The best entries from the citizens will be identified by the Ministry and will be featured on the MyGov page.
The last date to receive suggestions is 15th February 2022.
It should be mandatory for the companies to buy back their EEE at predefined rates , whenever they launch their new updated products . The hardware should be designed for a longer duration usage and only need to be updated with software only. It will help in minimising the e waste. If required , only hardware pcb need to be changed , or any individual parts may be changed at company authorised outlets and it will be like the new one.
EEE products have become a headache for the survival of the planet earth. So the multi-usage gadget instead of itemized gadget for each and every function can cut down the usage of EEE products. Moreover, incentive based disposal method if applied in PPP model then it can be a boon to the society as a whole. Advancement of Science & Technology should be encouraged to the highest level if it is sustainable in nature. Hope the visionary Government comes up with proper planning & execution model with the Gen Y by motivating for such type of start ups & rewarding them by & large for such efforts.

Sir, I am describing a micro details of EEE & materials in my household. two motor cycles, one washing machine, one refrigerator, four mobiles, five fans, one pump set, one computer etc. r not functioning & if repaired it's costly affair than purchasing a new one. if I sell out to junks dealer then it would not bring any benefit to me instead I keep it for spare parts to my need if atall it comes. like wise & year wise it's volume is rising but it's reuses is very less. Still myself bearing some pride that once open a time I was owner of a black & white T.V then a flat one & now a LED one. By the way my house has become a junky yard with/without my knowledge. If govt comes with a complete blue print of such wastes procurement through sellers/dealers then common people would come forward & definitely deposit their previous old equipment with purchase of a new one. only asking citizens/purchasers to be volunteers always & help out manufacturers would not solve it but needed a win win one
Few points are suggested in attached document for consideration please.
Sir, on sustainable EEE & materials, our govt task is foremost and first. Framing laws, rules & procedures by union govt then implementing cum executing it through citizens participatory ways r most vital one to take it next level. Every dealers should have storage facilities for procuring back all old EEE gadgets of no further uses to the owners who purchased such one fm the dealers. This will cement the relationship and same time it will be very effective & useful for EEE wastes collection. Without govt encouragement citizens won't come forward whole heartedly as we know how human behaviour is self motivated. So govt is duty bound with best solution and save some money & share it with all stakeholders. A solid planning is the need of hour then executing collection of waste Eee & materials then segregation & processing to be done. storage infrastructures to be made. Industries, manufacturers, govt & citizens all r to harnessed for clean the junks/ reused for betterment. A collective.
Sir, EEE wastes should not be considered waste materials as they do have many valuable items & metals which should be recycled/reused as these r becoming rare materials day by day and not much abundant/commanding high price in market. while selling a EEE to costumers dealer should make understand to costumers about the durability of the product & after that they should hand over the waste products to the certified EEE waste collectors & for that they should be incentivised by having some rebate/discount while purchasing a new EEE products or some monetary benefits may be given. This would encourage every households not to dump EEE wastes & better they would prefer a participatory parteners to the govt/manufacturing industries. Same time business operators should not be only profit orientated but duty bound to save our planet for greedy extraction of minerals which r scarce. optimal utilisation is the best value holistic realisation unless everyone knows what's waiting in future/ahead.
This is true and to the knowledge EEE products can be made more sustainable when people start realizing the importance of waste products. There are many such things in every house which can be recycled but people just throw way in order to buy the new one. If the product is recyclable, everyone should reuse it.Electrical engineering is an engineering discipline concerned with the study, design, and application of equipment, devices, and systems which use electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism.
