Plastics have made a considerable impact on our daily life starting from utensils of daily use to all major industrial sectors and its use is increasing day by day. Plastics in Medical applications save life by means of cost effective implants & ensure better health and hygiene in the form of disposable syringes. Use of plastics in Agricultural applications ensure higher yield with water conservation. Food packaging plastic applications not only increase the shelf life of food but also reduce food wastage. Increase in Fuel efficiency is the result of use of plastics in automotive applications and electronics cannot be thought of without plastic. Therefore, plastics have contributed to ease, affordability and better quality of products and can be termed as revolutionary. In fact , this is an exciting time for Polymers as they are finding applications in all the key sectors of the economy viz. aerospace , automobile , packaging , information technology , medical, electrical & electronics . The need of the hour to develop plastic products which can be recycled easily after rendering their useful life.
